Ugly Betty's cancellation... good or bad for Scrubs?

ABC has today announced the cancellation of Ugly Betty following ailing ratings, and it will end once its current fourth season has ended.

Yes, that's sad and whatnot, but the big issue here is: What does this mean for Scrubs?! Stephen McPherson has, just has he has with Scrubs, spoken of his love and disappointment for Ugly Betty. But the love wasn't enough. And he culled it!

Sooo.... if he said the same things about Betty, does that mean his words on Scrubs are just as hopeless and meaningless? If that is the case, then there is only one response: O shit man wassup wiv dat?!

Though it could be taken another way. With one of their comedies cancelled, maybe they'll have more space for Scrubs? Ugly Betty has been airing at 10/9C on ABC on comedy Wednesdays, a day McPherson has stated is a possibility for Scrubs, though he said it would probably be at 9/8C. Still, it means there are two slots open on Wednesdays (UB is a one-hour show), which could mean that both Scrubs and Better off Ted could air back to back on Wednesdays. Perhaps McPherson has killed one show to save two? Let's hope, Maenads, let's hope.
