The SOS Unofficial Street Team.... And then some. :)

Hello SOSers!!

Today, I was doing some random SOS advertising, and I decided to give it a name.

STREETTEAMING!!

The idea is, in a nutshell, to get out on the street and advertise SOS! We are running seriously low on numbers at the moment, mainly due to the fact that enough of people just don't know about it.

Don't worry, the idea is not to get out on the street and accost and/or mug people until they agree to support the cause, but to get out and just get the message out, in blatant but polite ways.

Here's an example of what to do. Today I was in stationery shop, Ryman's, trying out some pens I never intended to buy. I, unthinkingly, started drawing a huge picture type thing advertising SOS. I now know that the next people to visit the pen section of Ryman's (which will be at least a couple of thousand every hour, it's an incredibly popular shop and is an especially large branch). It was simple and took no time, in fact it was hideous (see picture below), but it will get the message across and inform people of the Scrubs crisis.

Having done that, I thought it only necessary to advertise some more. Getting on the London tube, when I reached a couple of overground stations and my mobile phone had signal, I decided it was time for some shameless plugging. It was the 'rush-hour' (so everyone was silent and packed like sardines, so listening to anyone making noise to avoid maddening boredom). I got on the phone with my friend and had an incredibly loud conversation with my friend about SOS, and saw interest from many people. Oh yes, I am an educator!!

Now, the idea of the Unofficial SOS Street Team is to do similar things. Basically, do what you can to get members of the public informed about the campaign. Good idea? I think so! ;)

Oh, and I sent out my McPherson letter today. Isn't it pretty?

Only cost 90p to send first class across the Atlantic. How about that?!

PS My photos are stretched because photobucket is a total buttmunch. :)
