Donald Faison has been cast in new CBS pilot "The Odds", filmed in Las Vegas. Obviously Donald would have been a main character in season ten, so, unlike Sarah's pilot casting, this is really bad news. Is it over? By Billio I hope not. :(

I'm pretty sure it's neither good nor bad news. The pilot is in second position to Scrubs so if Scrubs gets renewed he would have to return to it (and the role in the pilot recast, if it becomes a series. With a big if, because maybe one of five pilots even get series order).
ReplyDeleteThat doesn't mean I'm overly optimistic for a continuation but it means that Donald Faison (like Eliza Coupe who apparently does a couple of pilots do) just don't want to be without a job if Scrubs doesn't get renewed.
Yeah I see what you mean, but what it shows is that people genuinely aren't sure about the show's future. In the past the cast, crew and network have all known secretly about the show's renewal for months, but this shows that even they are unsure and are being forced to seriously consider other options as they have absolutely no certainty. I agree that it's definitely not a clear sign that it's all over, but now it seems it really is a long shot.
